It’s July 12th and you may be currently wondering “what on earth am I going to do with my kids for the rest of the summer?!” At this point, you’ve vacationed, been burnt at the beach and spent almost all of your time keeping your little ones occupied with fun activities! So what is there left to do?!

Well, don’t fret! We’ve dug deep into the Jacksonville calendar and found a variety of fun upcoming activities, camps and day excursions that will help you finish this summer out strong. We hope it’s a helpful guide to preserving your sanity and making even more fun memories with your kids this summer. 

1. The Little Mermaid at the Alhambra


“Based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen and the 1989 Disney movie, this musical is set under the high seas where we meet the adventurous mermaid Princess Ariel, who has a thing for disobeying the rules and following her heart. Her fascination with a young human prince brings her into the off-limits world where the people are. Her adventure leads to a showdown between good and evil, where only love can prevail.”

2. MOSH – Expedition Dinosaur, Discovery Camp, Little Learners, Camp-In at the Museum


Whether you want to take the kids out for a fun day excursion to see the amazing dinosaur exhibit, check them in for a daily discovery camp, take your toddlers for a fun day of learning new things, or even have a fun night out camping with your whole family in the museum – MOSH has so many options for family fun this summer! 3. St. Mary’s Aquatic Center


This small water park located in St. Marys is a fun way to get out and have a water adventure for the day with your family. 

4. Splish Splash Tuesdays at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens


Join us for a DJ dance party at the Splash Grounds in Play Park! Cool down with water activities, mermaid photo ops, tasty treats available at the Pizza Shop, and free ice pops (while supplies last). And take a stroll through the Zoo and Gardens to check out our special Splish Splash, Ice-themed Animal Enrichment!”

5. Kayak Amelia


Enjoy a fun kayaking excursion on the water with your family. Guided tours are available as well as self-guided adventures. Pack a picnic and enjoy some time taking in the sights. And maybe even see a manatee or two!

6. My Gym Jacksonville Kids Night out or Summer Camp

AGES 2-13

7. Top Golf Jacksonville Summer Academy

AGES 6-12

“Summer Academy is five days of non-stop entertainment and learning that kids will love. This program includes all of the components that make up the great game of golf. From chipping, putting and full swing, to the rules and etiquette, kids will learn everything they need to know to improve their game.Each Academy is designed and taught by our golf professionals from Topgolf Coach in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Summer Academy is staffed with a low student-to-instructor ratio to ensure each Junior Golfer receives in-depth, hands-on attention while he or she develops a winning golf swing.”

8. Color Me Mine One Day Summer Camp


At Color Me Mine we feel it is equally important for children to learn about and experience the arts. Color Me Mine is committed to providing a forum for kids to express their creativity, to relax, have some fun and learn in a creative and pressure-free environment.”
